I want to cool the ati radeon gpu on my video card. Most of the blocks come with mounting kits that have hole patterns that seem to be somewhat standard, but my video card has no holes, and the pcb underneath where holes would need to be drilled has circuits.

Has anyone just used thermally conductive adhesive / epoxy of some kind to get around this, and if so, what?

Also, It would seem to me that the block and the board are pretty much forever connected after that, right? I know people talk about freezing the board, etc, but the Arctic Silver site says it's epoxy is permanent.

Thanks for any help!

Iron Hawk has a gf3 block on his, the dden block, i hear you can mix some as2 or 3 with the thermal epoxy and make it not so permanent, ill point him this way

If you cant wait for it, I can answer your question.

I mixed Arctic Alumina Epoxy with Arctic Alumina Thermal compoud to make a thermal epoxy that is removable. Still holds really tight, yet I could remove it if needed.
