hi,

im new to making my own computer and im starting the project. i know that one of the things you dont want to skimp out on is the memory so i decided to come to you guys and galz :D.

i know my mobo supports up to PC2700 (its a Epox EP-8k3ae) and DDR333, ive been thinking about buying memory from Corsair, like a 256MB stick of PC2700, but ive seen the XMS series, wats so great about it?? Now for the question.

Can i put a stick of PC2400 in one memory bank and then PC2700 in say the second bank?

if any of you can stear me in a different (and better) direction than that of which i am going, i would appreciate it very much. thank you.

you can put PC2400 and 2700 in different banks but both banks will run at the same speed of the slower ram chip i.e 2400 in this case, and yeah corsair is good stuff will overclock nicely

okay thank you chris, that clears some stuff up.

last question, what is the difference between registered, and unbuffered ram? is one of them faster than the other? thank you.
