View Full Version : Does Anybody Want Weekly Stats?

Frankly I'm not feeling too enthusiastic about taking 3 hours out of my Sunday evening to do them. If enough people want the weekly stats I'll do them at least one more time.

Yes, I do use the weekly stats (I am trying to break the 100 WU per week barrier)

May I ask: how do you do them ?

as you must have most probably considered how to automate them,
which approach did you consider ?
which problem did you encounter ?
what would be your recommendations ?

Please I do not want to sound condescending at all, I would like to contribute

To be honest, when I crunched SETI I did not really look at the weekly stats and look more at the daily stats because I just wanted to know what I did daily and weekly would not really matter.

Just giving you the truth as you spend 3hrs of your weekend to do this and I do not want you to do this if it is a waste.

If you're too drained to do them today, I can wait. It is nice to have them, and I greatly appreciate those folks that sacrifice their time to do them for us.

best I don't mind giving details, but I'm really not in the mood right now. I'm just plain tired of dealing with all of this right now.

The weekly stats are nice, even though I only check 'em out once a month or so. For my purposes, TC, you could skip 'em this time around, but I would eventually miss seeing them if you gave up entirely.

I look at the weekly stats, but I'm more than happy to just look at the dailies for another week or so. I'm guessing you've put more time than normal into the seti team this weekend already.

:)

Note, the weekly stats aren't the only benefit to your updates. I really think posts announcing all the new members, the top mover, etc. are really cool, and a great way to make n00bs feel welcome.

TC I, for one, would have no problem if you need to take a break. I have always appreciated your efforts to post the stats.

I just use the seti at home stats.. I don't mind at all if you can't do them. Thanks for all the work. :) I didn't realize that it took that long to do?

TC, i know how it is for updating the stats. just my little benchie page took me ave. 1 1/2 ~ 2+ hrs to do it (mainly cos all those caculation involved and typing input. plus, me --> lazy, of course :p ) you and Skyhook amazed me how to keep those up in a daily/weekly base!!!

if you feel to tried, take a break. and honestly, weekly indivdual stats isn't too important to me. but those Top50s, New Members, Milestones, and Future ranking prediction is nice and i check them every week too. this should cut most of the work. if need any help, feel free to let me know! may be i could help some of them?! let me know.

I agree with landshark...
If you are to tired of doing them take a break, I mean they arent that important.. Im sure we can live a week without them:D

I made a mistake in my earlier post,
I do not use the weekly stats page, but the daily stats.

If updating the weekly stats is a burden, please do not update just for me.
