Could the unlocking of the 2400+ conecting the 5th l3 be the reason why windows xp wont work on a 1.72vcore or higher.

Or am i thinking stupide now ?

maybe your unlock messed up something in the chip?? i dunno.. you could try getting some acetone and taking that unlock out, and see what happens

dude yeah lol

I recommend the first thing you do is test the boundaries of the CPU by NOT unlocking it, once you find its absolute maximum stable clockspeed, then unlock it and try to get that same clockspeed with as high FSB as possible, but your running before you learn to walk (forgive that stupid saying :p) by unlocking it b4 testing its boundaries

didnt u try to OC it without unlocking at first? i meant just boost up the FSB a bit

Please think when you are unlock your AMD,becouse L1 bridges is the only one that you might connect.L3, L4 && L6 are bridges that you can connect if wish to see another default speed of AMD CPU, and L5 is to promote yours CPU in XP MP.2400+ is fine CPU but when you drive mobo on 196mhz you can find many problems with integrated components.

Where did you get that CPU && every thing have connections with FSB becouse I had a problem with sound on MOBO 266-c when FSB is over 150Mhz and some others mobo that I had to boost up.

You have a Thoroughbred 0.13 microns CPU that isn't made for high Volt. (Palomino - maybe -0.18 microns) and remeber every CPU is unique.

well sorry to burst youre thought but this gives me problems on stock cpu sspeed wich is 15x133=2000mhz

stock cpu vcore is 1.65v when i try to go to 1.72 or higher it wont boot into windows .

I think i just got a bad cpu cuss every 2400+ be it reviewers or members on the forums the cpu has no problems doing 1.70vcore or higher so i think my cpu is just flakey
