How can I stop Windows XP from automatically logging me out (locking me out) after a certain amount of time?

check the screensaver properties, im pretty sure somewhere in there its enabled.

Search the help for "lock out". It will tell you how to undo it. If it happens when your computer goes on standby, then the setting is in your power options control panel in the advanced tab.

The periodic lockout by screensaver/standby was fixed by unchecking a box in screen saver settings. The solution was so easy to find that I over looked right past it.
