Dual tec cooling, But with different wattages?

Can you run two different wattages tecs together on a cpu effectively? Or will the bigger tec pretty well drown out the smaller one? I'm talking about running them side by side on a cpu.

The biggest problem I see with this idea is that the pelts may not be the same thickness. Different wattages usualy have a little bit different specs on size so unless you find 2 of the same thickness the coldplate will not bolt on even. Even if you find 2 rated the same thickness they may still be just a hair different.
