actually i would think the opposite! all that is is a graphical representation of what is going on and when you have the display open your folding will be a little slower, i can only imagine that the faster you have the rate, the more extra proc power that would take and slow you down a sec or two more. the best way to from the gui is to keep that display closed, that is how you will get the fastest times from it. And of course, for optimal folding, the console is that best way to go!

My "from the hip" assumption concurs with NAS. I set all my machines to the lowest possible setting when it comes to draw rate. I even choose the "ball and stick" setting because I "think" it would pull less from the cpu than the 3D version.

and realize, these graphics NEVER get seen as I don't use the screen saver. :D

It's almost like a possesion really... I'm feeling the old "I'm going to need a Folding Exorcism" again...
