I setting up a new rig with an Athlon XP 1600, 512megs of Kingston PC2700 RAM CL 2.5. Epox 8K5A2+, Geforce4 Ti4200. ect, ect.

Anyway, I plan to just set the fsb to 166 to kick the cpu speed up to 1.75 Ghz without unlocking the cpu and changing the multiplier.
Will the CL 2.5 memory speed hinder my OC? As long as the memory is PC2700 it should be fine, right?

Hello, and welcome to the Forums!
Your memory ought to be fine. I was able to run my Kingmax PC2700 at "Turbo" on my 8K3A+ at 175 FSB. I did have to change the CAS, or as they call it in the BIOS SDRAM cycle length from 2 to 2.5, and bump the voltage to 2.7. I may go higher still once I get my new PSU.

if the pc2700 is working correctly, you should hit 166 easily. that's what speed pc2700 is made to run at.
