Win XP Hm-No task bar

Recently when I boot into XP HM, 7 out of 10 times the task bar is not there. It is just black. When I put the cursor on the black area I get an hourglass, but there are no programs running in task MGR. 99% of the time when I reboot, it boots fine. Why would it do this?

Did you just install something? My computer did this because of ZoneAlarm I believe. Boot into safe mode and uninstall or do a system restore.

How long have you waited for the taskbar to appear? I definitely think it is a program that starts up with windows. Maybe reduce the number of things that startup and see if that helps.

I never appeared, I would have to restart it to get it back.
I figured out (i think) what was causing it, how I don't know. I upgraded to BIOS M11 a modded BOIS. When I went back to F10, so far it has not happened with multiple restarts.
