What is the most widely used width of the acrylic sheet for computer windows? Home depot sells widths ranging from approx. 1/8" to approx. 1/4".

I would say 6mm... don't quote me though! :)

6mm = 1/4"

I use 1/8", but thicker wouldn't hurt.

i have 1/4" , and I think that any smaller sizes would bend pretty easy.

Home Depot actually orders thicknesses based on what the contractors in that area need. This is why Home Depot stocks such odd sizes, which are standard cuts for home construction in that specific area.

1/16" is the norm here

how much does Home Depot charge for it? in 1/8" and 1/4" thicknesses (and 3/16" if anyone knows)?

No clue about how much it will cost. I'd go with the 1/8. Although it may bend, how often do you flex your side panels?

I payed $20 CDN for a big enough sheet to do my window with a bit spare

oops it was 18x24x3/32" of Lucite Tuf Acrylic sheet

for the size a little under 1/8" which actaully says .093" on it goes for about $12 @ 24" x 48".
I needed to know because i want to do local case mods and window kits. I can get the self locking rubber mouldings for either 1/8" or 1/4" slots on the side the acrylic would slide into.
I'd rather buy larger amounts for the online retailers are crazy priced.

Unfortunately, I work at Home Depot. We stock 1/8 and 1/4 lexan, NOT plexiglass.

And for any crazy modders out there, 3/4" lexan is considered bullet proof incase you have any modding that requires a shotgun.

I ordered one of those kits that comes with the molding, and the window that came with it was 3mm thick
