On a kt333 motherboard it can often get 166 -175 FSB.

On kt266/a motheboards it could hit anywhwere from 145-160ish.

On kt333's you want to unlock for the same of getting more FSB at the same clock speed, the chip's max. On a 266, you'd want to unlock and raise the multiplyer and raise it for more clock speed because it will be FSB-limited. But its not necessary to unlock it. Pull out your calculator and figure what you can get at say 10.5 x 148-155, since you've got a 266 mobo and see if that is enough to make you happy. If not, buy a higher model like an 1800+ or a kt333 board.

Huh?? Oh...darn. I guess that only works with Trivial Pursuit. If you keep answering that every time, you get the right answer at least twice a game....:p

Absolutely. As long as the rest of the components in your machine can handle high FSB settings.

I just got a pair of AGOIA "Y" 0212's. I got them to run in a duallie (whenever I can afford the mobo...LOL) I finally broke down and fired one up one night...it hit 150+FSB at the default multi right off. I seem to recall 1620 or something like that....

I've since unlocked both of them (it's really not that hard, really. Just delicate, patient work.). Both run a 12.5 multi, with one chip clocking in at 140FSB (1750), the other 146 (1825).

Read up on the unlocking, and if you want, PM me...I've got a few tips that might help. ;)

But the answer is yes. And the better your components (RAM, etc...), the better you gains will be.

Good luck!

Cheers!
