You may or may not get to 1700. Unlocking will not necessarly give you more o/c room.
I'll just add that depending on your revision code/chip, results vary... what voltage are you currently using to get to 1668?? If you're at default voltage still then you might have room to play with, if it's requiring 1.80v or more to run at that speed, you probably are not going to get much higher.

My 1800 runs at 1725mz(150fsb). Stock multiplier, stock voltage. I did bump the voltage up 5% to go higher but havent tried yet.
I got 1702 to 1725 out of mine, locked, at 1.85v.
What's the stepping and date on yours? I've got a very early AGKGA core, which is notorius for small overclocks....

I wouldnt... 32 mhz wont make a big difference. But if you want to learn how to unlock a chip and such, the learning experience is priceless.

just sell the cpu and buy a 1600+

the speed of your processor when overclocking depends on the amount of voltage, and how much cooling u have. If u dont have enough cooling, ur gonna frie it, and most likely kill it. If you dont have enough voltage, i dont know what happens, but u dont want it to happen.

Best way. I had the AGKGA Stepping and couldn't get over 1701Mhz. Convinced a buddy to upgrade to a 1600 and swapped him for my 1800. He doesn't overclock so we both came out ahead. Running 166 x 10.5 at stock voltage from day one. Never even ran it at 133. :D
I have mine running at 1.6 ghz wth a FSB of 166. 1.8v. with my volcano 9 at 3200 rpm.
I got my 1800 to...
170x10.
I can get up to 1770, but things begin to get glitchy, like I can't reset or power of in windows, 3dmark2001 stops after the 4-5th test. things like that.
I settled for 1.6ghz with a 333 FSB cause it was a safe comprimise given my cooling at the moment.
I too have a AgkGA
