I have a p4b533e board with a 1.8a. Currently running at 2.7ghz with 1.6volts. totally stable after 12 hours of prime95. Using Corsair 3200 along with 3:4 ratio for 400mhz.

Can go higher but the voltage needed far outweighs the speed increase.

Is this a good overclock? what speeds are you guys getting with your 1.8a's?

thats good to here ;). I have seen some posts of people running as high as 3gig with a 1.8a, is this currently possible or will we need to wait for the c1 steppings?

Also what is a B0 shrink? I thought the die shrink took place with the change from Willamette to Northwood?

Thanks for the responses.

My 1.6a only provides 2.4GHz, but in conjunction with the 150/600 fsb and async memory operation similar to yours this means an ugly fast system. 2.7GHz is that much better. Even if you could find a chip that yields 3GHz it would translate into a system that is only barely faster than what you have. Consider it a job well done and start saving for the next generation of products, as they will be required to pick up a worthwhile amount of speed over what you already have (dual channel DDR, 3.5GHz+....)

that's a real good overclock. are you new to overclocking or just the forums? b.tw. what are you load and idle temps?

Im new to the forums but not overclocking. my first overclock was a 286, After that I was hooked. I find it more fun overclocking the machine than actually using it as I work with pc's all day.

idle 35,max load 51 but its hot here is Australia

LOL 900Mhz overclock... 150% stock speed... and you have to ASK?

These sort of overclocks on 1.8A's are gr8, and when you consider the C1 stepping 1.8A's will hit 3ghz, at a super high FSB, whats the point in buying a 2.x ghz P4? Your memory bandwidth will be so much better on an overclocked 1.8A, even at 2.7ghz you will likely be faster than a 2.8 at default, or even a 3.06 if you dont think about HyperT....I love overclocking :D
Wish I hadnt bought my 2.5/400 though!

I tried to gt this setup working originally with kingmax ddr400 but it would go much above 333mhz in my board even with a voltage increase. Got some Corsair and it runn 400 all day long at default 2.6v.

Has anyone else had any experience with kingmax?
