I am thinking of making somethin simaler to a Koolance EXOS but with my own "Style". and I was wondering if mounthing the rad on the top of my case is a good idea? since hot air rises wouldn't that mess it all up?

Hot air only rises if there is no circulation (or very very little).

As long as you give the rad enough room to breath, and enough room for air to circulate unopposed then you should be ok.

I do feel the best temps are found at the bottom of the case though.
