17v to a peltier

just wondering if the voltage mod will work with a peltier. i hooked my 80w pelt up to the 17v bus that i have an the psu wouldnt push it. I am sure that the psu just cant do it but if i get another one then will it hurt the pelt to run it at 17v instead of 12v
