My friends mom (Got a Dell Dude!) and always puts her Computer to Stand By rather than shutting it off. This is no big deal however when she does this all of her fans turn off! So as soon as I got home I tried putting my personal computer (Tornado Inside!) ;) into Stand By. It goes to stand by however all the fans continue to zoom inside and it is pointless. How do I make my Tornado turn off like hers?
Thanks

I think there are different kinds of Stand By modes. I know that with my TH7II I can specify and set these modes in the BIOS. However, I just use Hibernatio, which is fast, and puts your comp off completely

Open up the Power Options aplet in Control Panel (Start > Settings > Control Panel) and go to the Advanced tab (I'm assuming this is the same process for that computer). You will see two check boxes and two drop-down menus. You are concerned only with the first one which reads 'When I press the power button on my computer:' drop the menu down and select 'Shut down', the way it is now it should have 'Stand by' selected.

Got it I had to change Suspend Type from S1(POS) to S3(STR) in the BIOS on my Epox 8k3a+.
Thanks
