Can they act as HUB's also ? Say if you've got both computers connected to the internet through it can you still send and recive files through a network setup ?

If you get the router with integraged switch, yes you can do exactly what you are describing. The router only (without swicth) will not allow this as it only has 1 port (you can connect a hub, and other computers to the hub however).

If you got a good router and it has more than 1 port for networks, you could set up computer A and ethernet interface0 as a network, and computer B and ethernet interface 1 a network, and the they should be able to talk to each other through the router.
