I was reading a post that gave me the ideaa of using one of those big fake widow things that simulate rain as a bong. It would be a nice addition to my computer room since it does not have a window in it. Do you think it would work?

If you are talking about desktop fountains or something similar, the material doesn't matter. The point of those is to expose water to the air, and get evaporative cooling.

thank you. I was thinking of putting one together using 2 sheets of glass 2 1/2'x 3' and seperate them about 2", put the whole thing in a waterproof frame, make the res look like a flower pot or something And hang it in front of my a/c unit to cool one side of the glass. put some fans in the top out of site and you have a nice stealthy looking bong that is not quite as ugly as some I have seen.

you're going to shower water into the area between two plates of glass which is water proof ? This would not be a bong...where are you putting the ventillation fans or ducts? they'd have to be either to the outside or inside because you dont want all that humidity between your walls. the water droplets need a way to escape into the air for it to be a bong. Without that the vapor pressure would soon equalize and you wouldn't get good cooling. I think you'd want to put a couple ducts blowing air in and out on either side from the outside. you'd need some sort of open from underneath duct on the outside to prevent rain/snow/bugs and stuff from entering it. metal screen should do the trick with bugs and other debris.
