Just install the processor in my sig. Have her burning in right now, running very stable and very cool. Up'd the FSB to 166 and here is a peak at what she is doing.

Let me know how these numbers look, I think I need to do some tweaking to the memory it doesn't seem to run as well as it should. Any input would be greatly appreciated.

im pretty sure u can reach 1800 + mhz

actually I like the idea of keeping the FSB at 166, with my MB and it's dividers the AGP/PCI stay at normal, still not sure if I have the memory configured in the BIOS properly.

nice overclock!

it's not me it's the chip, but thanks the same...

still not sure about the memory it's Corsair XMS3200 cas 2, think it's not configured right in the BIOS because it should be performing much better than it is...

look at my primary rig, you will sure can oc it up to 180mhz fsb if you are fine with quite high temps, but anyway, in order to make full use of that corsair stick you MUST unlock your cpu to lower the cpu multiplier and increase the fsb as high as you can, your memory can easily run 200mhz fastest timings and maybe more, so i suggest you get some guts and an unlocking kit :)

ronin you should def push that higher. if your sig is correct and you have a maxtor drive then you can probably do up to 210fsb without risking damagin anything. maxtors are not affected w/ high FSB's.

NO harddrive unless it is a noname really really crappy brand will be affected by any fsb up to 185FSB.

personally my WD drive will do up to 195fsb.

1/5 divisor obviously

is it ture that if u go over 200 fsb on a abit kd7 the data on the hd will get messed up

Nice OC. I'm in the same school of thought with you and FSB. Call us chicken I guess :)

I still haven't unlocked mine and am @ 1910 mhz with 2.0 volts, that is watercooled and my temps are a max of 45c under load, those chips do 166 fsb effortlessly.

Now don't get me wrong, I may push the envelope a little further, just to see how high I can get it, but I think running a 100% stable machine at 35 C degrees underload and still being overclocked by almost 400MHz isn't a bad thing.

I set the FSB at 166, left the multiplier at 10.5 and kept the voltages at standard, and she ran like a champ, never got above 39C, and just to prove a point, I ran Prime95 torture test overnight without a glitch...

who knows what it could do with some more aggressive settings...

I have reached the wall on the OC. It looks like the best I can do is 175FSB, and that's 100% stable, Windows load, all the standard benchmarks run(SiSoft Sandra, PCMark2002, 3DMark2001, Prime 95)

Here is link with some screenshots of the results:

At this point I either stop, swap my air cooling for water, or unlock and drop the mutiplier...

For now I am just going to relax and enjoy the free 400MHz+increase

I'd like to thank everyone who responded to my threads, and who helped to make this possible

I have the exact same basic setup as you do and I can reach 176mhz on stock voltage. I havent tried to up the Vcore yet as my idle temps are approaching 50C when Im at 176mhz!

I spent all my money and now Im broke so I cant go watercooling as I had planned. Ill have to wait for summer....

Also I'd love to unlock my chip but theres just no point in doing so with my present cooling system (stupid volcano 7!) so Im not gonna risk breaking it before I get better cooling.

Oh I forgot to say I dont even have AS3 on this chip because I forgot it at my chalet and I havent been there in like 2 months. Next time I go Ill get it and maybe It'll shave 3-4C so that I can up the voltage safely a bit.

Right now Im running it 100% stable at 166mhz FSB and 1.675Vcore. (0.075volts under stock!)
