A Question about a Tower Of Cooling aka "Nuke Water Tower Method"

I am building a water tower for cooling my tbird. i was wondering if any one had any good ideas for where i should put the "T" pipe for the fan. should i place it in the middle or near the bottom. would it matter where it is placed? also i have a 5 foot 4"wide pipe what should i cut it down to be? 3 feet maybe or smaller of leave it alone at 5 foot?

Place the T as low as you can. The more area the water has to fall against the fans airflow, the better the cooling.
