I just got my new PC, and now I leave it on all the time so--

How can I make it quieter w/o turning it off or buying new fans? It's an Antec case, 1 fan in the PS, and 2 fans below it.

You can 7volt mod the fans... that might help. Also look into BayBus and RheoBus for fan control. Why is this in alternative modding?

Welcome to the Forums!

You could put some sound absorbing material inside your case, but it will probably raise your temps. I'm planning on using a product similar to Dynamat in mine. I got it fairly cheap from partsexpress.com for some stereo speaker mods I'm doing. Also, I've seen here in the Forums where some members have used mouse pads and claim it works pretty well.

Welcome to the forums.
The rheostat controls for your fans are a really good idea, and will probably make the most noticable difference. Sound deadeners like 1Time suggests are also a big help. Check here (http://www.b-quiet.com) for a couple of different types. Styrofoam, acoustic tiles, carpet pads, or even cardboard will eliminate some degree of noise. You can also use rubber or plastic washers between fans and case, drives and frame, etc., to reduce noise.

stool, I looked into a rheostat and saw at www.caseetc.com they had a kit and I may try that, since its so cheap and looks pretty easy (found a good tutorial for it @ bit-tech.net). Thanks a lot for the suggestion, I probably wouldn't have thought of that! :)
