Hello every body.I've recently purchased a coolermaster fan for my overclocked P4 (1.7 to 1.9).It's temp under load is about 55 degree ,i just want you to rate it, wether it's normal or not?
I also have little un-stablities and the system halts sometimes.
Is this normal according to this low increase (200 MHZ) in speed?

My system is:
Mobo:Asus P4B-266SE
CPU:1.7 P4 willmate core
RAM:256 PC2100
Graphic:Ati radeon 7000 pro, 64 mb

My fan speen is constant at 4500 rpm.

I would be so grateful if anybody can help me.:eh?:

That should be a good overclock for that P-4 Willy (112 FSB). You mentioned "only" a 200 MHz overclock, but that's a lot for that particular CPU. If your CPU temps are 55 under full load, that's not bad since those Willies run a little warmer than the Northies. Are you using a good thermal paste? You might consider improving case ventilation a little too. Are you still at default voltage? If so, your stability might improve with a small vcore increase. Maybe try 1.8v and see what happens. Good luck.

batboy gave some good advice, but I'd like to add that 55degC is on the high side IMHO, even though it's not a strange reading considering your Willamette chip and weak cooling solution. I have seen various chips act funny above 50DegC, so I'd consider it a potential source of instability.

With a better heatsink and good matching 80mm fan you could decrease temperatures and possibly maintain stability even with a slight core voltage increase. Like bb said: use good thermal paste and think about your case ventilation too.

im with the boys :D temps are little hot for my taste but you've gotten sound advice so im not going to repeat it. Goodluck with it, keep us posted :)

Thanks every one, specialy bb
I tried your style, and it did worked.
As you said i set the vcore to 1.8 and it was great.
There is no un-stablities.
But i came across somethin' else!
I dont know whether it's relatedto vcore increase or not, but i hear a very Hi-Frequency sound ,like sparks or somethin' from my mobo and i think the source is near the cpu.
a guy told it was My cpu getting crashed,i thought it could'nt be.
and other said it's the fan making the sound, I unpluged my cpu, case, power, graphic card fans but still the sound arises specially under full load and when i attach my cpu fan to the mobo, it's speed decreases when cpu is fully loaded .
So what the hell this can be?
