on an A7V333? I read in an overclockers article that it has an effect on performance, but the article didn't mention the A7V333. Anyone know?

For compatibility reasons, the best dimm slot to place the fist stick of ram in is the one diesignated (Labeled) Dimm0 (Slot #1).
Performance wise, in theory, the dimm slot closest to the motherboard chipset should be the one used first. The difference in performance is well less than 1% to make it even worth fooling with if your pc is already running fine.
