rdram backwards compatable?

if you have a system that uses 32bit RDRAM, is it possible to still use the old 16bit versions?

Or do the buses work completely different or something? or doesnt it matter as long as you fill the 64bit memory bank

They are different, the 32 bit has 232pins the 16 bit uses 184pins.
