I haven't been following the ram scene recently, I'm still back in the days of pc100. :) Anyway, I'm goin to be putting a new system together, I'll have an abit kd7, and an xp1600. I was wondering what would be the best ram (what speed) to get w/ this. I've heard that faster may not be better right now, and I just wanted to know what ram would be the best, I'm also going to be overclocking this, so I'll get crucial, I just wanted to know what speed you think is best

Thanks

Right now a 200 fsb is about the max you'll get out of any mobo (the pci devices typically become unstable somewhere near this level with the current multipliers available). Thus a 3200 is about the max you'll be able to use. Cosair appears to be one of the best for very high overclocks now-a-days. Not sure critical goes that high but you maybe able to overclock some of it there.

oh, I was under t he wrong impression, I though ram ocing was like cpu ocing, whereas you could get a better overclock from a less expensive chip. I didn't realize it was all about fsb. SO, faster is better in this case :)
