well i sold my p4 2.8 and bought corsair 512mb pc3200c2 and i have $165 left. woo hoo! im hoping to get a cheap 2.26 for $165...then i can use my system!!! ill also let u guys kno how well it OCs...hope i get a good chip.

for $140 you can get a 1.8a....id does 2.8-2.9ghz max.

the 2.26 does 3.0ghz max

hmmmm good point but, how would the fsb of the 1.8a go? i think the 2.26 fsb would be higher so i can utilize my DDR!

or i just might wait for the 3.06 to come and buy it for $600+??? hmmm i dunno......BUT because my memory is coming in i will be feverishly anxious to use my P4 system so i might just buy something quick!!!ahhhhhhhhhhh

lets see...

1.8a at 2.8 is 156fsb......at 2.9ghz it's 162fsb, the big thing is they can go higher, yet you might not like the high vcore.
maybe 165fsb is the sweet spot. 2970mhz

the 17 multiplyer of the 2.26 is not that much better.....
17 x 156fsb=2652 17 x 162=2754

so now you might be able to go to 170fsb and use 3/4 divider===2890 or almost 2.9ghz with good bandwith.

Why did you sell the 2.8? To buy a slower chip?

If the 2.26 gets to 166Mhz FSB it may be faster than the 2.8 at stock, but that is a gamble... and how high did you get that 2.8? Over 3Ghz at least?

i sold it for the 3ghz chip. but now i think its too much to buy..... im still decideing. the 2.8 chip was a good chip that did 3ghz on default vcore 100% prime stable. but i want to run a higher ddr speeds. the money i got from the 2.8 chip paid for corsair 512mb pc3200c2 stick and $165 left in my paypal. maybe i will go with the 3ghz chip but i want some reviews first
