Lapping Question?

Where do you guys get your sandpaper for lapping your heatsinks? I hit all the hardware stores and hobby shops in my area and the finest stuff I could find is only 400. I can't find any 800-1200 stuff anywhere.

You can get high grit sand paper at any automotive store its used for finishing work!

You can go to a Walmart and get it in the auto section,thats where i got my 1500 grit,they have a fairly good selection.

My hardware store sold 1200, thanks to the above posts though as i need higher. Odd that your Hardware store dosent sell higher than 400, dosent sound like much of a hardware store to me.
