On average, what is the power dissipation, in watts, of a motherboard with normal components (eg video, sound, nic)? This doesnt include outside components like cpu,hdd & cdroms.

Does anyone know? Is there an easy way to work it out?

Cheers

All-In-One boards average at 35watts. Boards with minimal needs (no onboard sound, LAN, or video) average at 25watts.

I'm basing my answer on the responses I've gotten from a few Power Supply manufacturers.

Here's a watt usage reference sheet from PC Power & Cooling (http://www.pcpowercooling.com/maxpc/index_cases.htm)
I can't find the handy Power consumption list for every processor ever made...
