View Full Version : good cooling cases
preferably on a budget. No Lian-Li's around here. So far the case most recommended to me has been an Antec sx-830. The plus side to this case is it's large. The downside is... it's large. I know it makes for excellent cooling, but is it worth it? I found one in stealth black for $80. I was mostly thinking of a large mid-tower, but all suggestions are welcome.
A good roomy midtower that comes cheap is the Enlight 7237. You can get one of those with a 300 watt power supply for I think around $60-70 plus shipping. Just do a search for 7237 300 (Replace 300 with however many watts ps you want) on pricewatch.

The Enlight 7237 has many virtues. Cooling isn't one of them, at least as the case comes from the factory. If you want cooling good enough for a T-Bird/Duron, it's cutting time for a 7237.
I'm quite intrigued with the Yeong Yang Lunar 5402. This Mid-tower comes from the factory with two 120mm fan mounts, and they're in the right places. Yeong Yang has been making Server cases for a while, so it's not an unknown company. You might drop by http://www.kdcomputers.com for a look-see. I recently bought a 7237. For five more bucks, I could have had the Lunar 5402. I can't vouch for the quality of the case, and I don't know if UPS will get it to you in good condition. I know I wouldn't be making like the sheet metal mechanic that I'm not with the Enlight 7237, assuming that the Lunar 5402 got here in good shape! I have no connection with KDComputers or Yeong Yang, btw.
I'm fond of the Antec 830SX, Has plenty of room for me and currently comes with 2 rear exhaust fans, When ahead and purchased 3 more fans and this case has slots for those. Now I have 3 up front ( 1 cooling H/D) and 2 in the rear. Pick up at Frys for $74.00 plus tax about 2 months ago. Now their at $99.00.
