Epox 8KHA+ 9/03/02 BETA BIOS
I have had this thing for 5 mins. Ill see how far it can really go. Shooting for 2100mhz.
Let us know :)
I got one waitin @ fedex for me ;)
Busy night ahead tho, dunno if i'll even get it tonight let alone play w/ it :D
Awesome!!!!!!!
Thank you so very much for PM'ing me on this! Great news for many 8kha+ owners :)
Do you know if you have an earlier or later revision 8kha+ board? According to the Epox site it needs to be v.2 or higher to work well...

Now I need to go home and verify I have that revision, otherwise I'm SOL until my next major system overhaul (watercooling, the works :) ).

Oh and one more thing that I would like to add. It came unlocked, full multiplier control.
Got mine in...no time to play tonight tho :(

Where'd you guys buy these chips?

I got mine at Newegg I was hopping for a week 40. You do have to figure that these are going to be the worst T-Bred A chips out.
HELP!
I got a tbred 1700 AND a mobile 1600 tbred here. Pretend I'm 2 years old, and tell me how to attach pictures .... I can't figure it out. I go to the "attach file" click browse, enter my file.
THEN WHAT? I hit preview, NO PIC. I also need to attach two images. My images are like 24k, *.jpg, and under 300X300.
WTF?
Thanks

geez 2.2volts !!!  :(
prob won't live long
although the temp is still lookin good
I'm sure it can take the volts :)
What speed did ya end up max'n out @, {PMS}fishy?
I think I'll get to test mine tonight :D

I dropped the voltage to 2v and Im running at 1900mhz. Ill push it harder later. I was able to hit 2013 before.
That voltage is a tad high for my taste... I need something that will run in the 2ghz range at 1.85 volts on air before I consider buying... anything less and it just wouldn't be worth the extra 200mhz...
Maybe one sold at a higher clock speed will OC better (as it's more likely to have a core capable of running higher since its been tested to run higher at default voltage).
(found that newegg actually has throughbred processors at lower speeds listed, not necessarily mobiles. I think you were right in that these are probably the a$$ end of the thoroughbred cores made, leftovers revision "A" chips)
I run my chip @ 2.2v to stabilize 2024MHz & if that's what it takes to get above it w/ the Tbred, I'll feed it that, as long as the temps stay sane ;)
If it dies from the voltage, then I'll believe that the Tbred's can't handle that kinda voltage :D

Don't hit preview. You can only attach one picture per post. You have it right. If you want a place to host pictures www.theforumisdown.com and use Tags

1.5v default keeps me in the high 1700's @ 1.7v. Unlocking problem solved. Now it looks like L11 voltage bridges need work but my old Asus boards have jumpers for voltage so 1.85v here I come.:D
At 1.7v, though, it looks like it will outperform most Palominos.
Harvey
edit: Looks like you can cut one bridge and make default 1.825v
1.500v is - connect cut cut cut connect
1.825v is - cut cut cut cut connect
I max'd out @ 2040MHz for 3DMark stability. I was hoping for a little more, but not bad at all.
My chip seems to run about 10c hotter than my 1600+ Palomino did...amazing to me that u got 35c load temps @ 2.2v w/ this thing, fishy.
The chip does indeed come factory unlocked up to 12.5 mult...which is pretty darn nice.
Now I'm not sure which chip to run.....the cooler-running Palomino @ 2024MHz....or the hotter-runnin Tbred @ 2040MHz :)

Hey Harvey! :)
I'm still running that old 8kha+ of yours and that stick of memory (duron and tbird have long since been moved to new homes in other boxes)...
I don't feel comfortable cutting bridges on these things, dremel or not... is there a sure fire way to get those bridges cut to minimize the potential harm?
(yes, I'm considering getting an 1800, 1900, or even 2000 tbred if they're ever released... I probably will not get the 1700 as it doesn't seem to be getting to 2ghz without massive voltage)

I saw a post where you send a shot of voltage through the two contacts to blow the fuse.

There should be an 1800+ T-bred "B" coming along.

I glad you like the 8KHA+. I sold your Celeron to Skyhook. You can have the board back if you want.:)
I'm running the T-bred 1700+ right now on an 8KHA+ @ 1.7v. It's nice but it wants to go higher.:)

How high can you get it stable at 1.7v?? I'll assume the highest the 8kha+ will go (without modding or cutting the contact on the cpu) is 1.7v with the tbred core, right?
I remember reading that you could use a 9v battery to short the fuse, forgot about that trick :).
I think that VH6-T would make for a good folding board in someone's rig... I'm sure someone could use it.

11.0 X 158 = 1758 @ 1.7v. I never fine tuned it. I pulled off an XP1600+ that had been running @ 158fsb and tried 11.0 x 158 first then tried 11.5 X 158 = 1817 and couldn't get a post so it's somewhere in between @ 1.7v. The 8KHA+ gives me 0.2v range 1.5v - 1.7v.

Good idea. Let me give the crunchers first crack. Big race going on.:)

Looks like I'll be jimmy-rigging a battery to short that bridge ;)
