Would anyone like to share what their idel and load temps for a 2.8ghz p4 would be? I have a feeling mine is a tad high 40C under idle and 58 under load..

thanks,

Yes, that's a little high (depending on the level of overclock you're running). What do you have for cooling? Sounds like probably stock retail fan and heatsink. You probably need more case cooling and a better CPU cooler (and Arctic Silver thermal paste if you don't already have that).

Opps forgot to mention 40c idle & 58c load running 143FSB (3ghz OC). And yes Stock cooling.... should I go with an Alpha and some Shin etsu/cooler master?

Sorryto hijack your thread, but when does the CPU start to throttle down?

I'm pretty sure my abit motherboard reads temps higher then they are. However,
2.0A @ 2700 mhz 1.6v. 42c idle. 55c load
2.0A @ 2000 mhz 1.5v. 40c idle. 47c load.

Artic silver, Volcano 7+

Is my cpu ok, and/or throttling down?

Thanks
Peter

Running at 1.575.... starts to throttle above 60c but not exactly sure which point.
