Is it possible to mount it under the CPU. Is that the best place to mount the sensor for monitorig the CPU temp??

The temparture sensors are basically just wire with a small sensor at the tip. There is plenty of length so you can pretty much run the thermo sensors where ever you want/need in the case.

try to get it in between the heatsink and cpu as close to the cpu core, but not on the core (VERY IMPORTANT), you can cut the extra plastic off the tip, but also be careful not to cut off the sensor or its gone.

You want to mount it on top of the cpu, but NOT on the core. The tip should be toucing the EDGE of the core. Also, you may need to cut some of the insulation off of the wire/probe or your heatsink may not sit right. Make sure you get this right, or you can fry your CPU. Not trying to scare you, i just dont wanna read any 'i fried my cpu' threads. :D
