As the title implies... where is some quality PC133 that can be had for cheap? I'm looking for either 256mb sticks, or 512. I don't really know which brand is best for this. I plan on trying to overclock a little, not anything crazy though.

Also, prefer a good website, like computergeeks.com or newegg, not some flight by night from pricewatch.

Thanks!

mushkins good stuff or crucial definately. a few months ago crucial pc133 cas2 was 30 some bucks for 256mb and mushkin was 70 something. so i got crucial obviously. crucials pc133 cas2 has been tested up to 150 cas2 and 160 cas3 for the overclockers.com test. go check it out in the memory section. really good stuff. just ask yourself how high you really need to go and then buy the cheapest that fits it.

also, dont worry about buying from crucial.com. they are actually great. it was packaged neatly and here within a few days.

imo it looks like ****. no brand = dont get. just ask yourself if you need to go higher than 150mhz fsb. if not, boom, get crucial. as simple as that.

since you said you plan on overclocking a little, but nothing crazy, i dont think you need that kinda stuff.

I know this isn't a brand name, but the specs are really good and PC166 seems sort of rare. Would this be a good one to order? Seems very overclockable, and also just fast right out of the box.

THIS IS BAD

BUYAIB according to resellerratings.com should be AVOIDED at all costs.

A 1.4 out of 10 is about as bad as it gets/ many people get hosed by this outfit on a regular basis...

Let me make a suggestion to you, perhaps look around in various forums Classified sections and ask if anyone has any Mushkin pc150 or pc166 Tonicom laying around. Since many people have gone to DDR and Rdram the odds of picking up a stick of Mushkin or even better Tonicom are good.

Just make sure the person is an established trader and look around. I'll look myself for you and maybe I can find you a bargain.

[edit]** I sent you a PM with a few great deals**

I've got a real good price on some Mushkin REV3+ which is rated at PC150+. This stuff actually runs up to 160+ FSB in pairs (128mb sticks) at 2-2-2 timings. LMK if interested.

why pay $70 for 256mb when you can pay $35? crucial is the real deal. but then again if you want to get your system running at 160 instead of 150 cas 2, then of course pay double the amount.

I just purchased Samsung pc2700 at Buyaib.com and got defective pc2100 elixir memory. These guys got to be stopped! I think the ram fried my epox motherboard when I tried to oc it. I'm going to call my credit card company and have the $90 refunded back to my account. Also, I'm going to keep the memory, no rma for these guys. If anyone else is having problems, submit a report go to http://www.bbbsouthland.org.
