Swiftech BareBonz Sys not up to par.

OK, I've had this sys running for around 6 months now.

Set up config - pump - block - rad - res
2-1/2 cups H20.

installed with AS2, WW (proper mix)
Temps increased to 43C Load. :eek:
Had 37 B4 with air. :bang head

The block is a flow through. No passages.

No air in the system either.

Rad is 8x5x1 w/ 120mm and a 92mm

idle temps are 38C

Pump is a 1048 w/ 3/8" tube.

I want to replace the 92 with another 120,
for more airflow.

Or should I just go buy a better block & rad?

Kinda ****ed off about the sys
and thinking about going back to air. :(

Any help would be appreciated.

I can assure you your temps are better than with air. The insocket thermistor is just wrong. The part that sucks about the unit you have is the rad and the small lines, I had the same setup. Unfortunately, to get better temps you will need bigger lines, 1/2", a better rad like a heatercore, and you will have to mod your block for 1/2" lines or get a new block.

So, basically, it comes down to "Volume".

then transferability of heat, to the heatercore.

So, by increasing my line size to 1/2", which will help,
installing a better heat exchanger, core, is also needed.

Kinda what I was thinking, but I just thought I'd have better temps, as is.

Even at the same or less voltage, the XP produces more heat.

---maybe I'll try 1/2" from the res to the block

& 3/8 to the rad.

have a little back pressure to "hold" the water in the block
to absorb more heat.

Backpressure = VERY BAD. You don't want to hold water in the block, you want it to move as RAPIDLY as possible there. IF anything, you would want to "hold" water in the rad. Use the same size tubing, be it 3/8" or 1/2", try to keep it uniform.

heres a quick test you can do, take a fan, any size as long as it blows good, point it at your socket, then watch the temps drop

Aaaaaaa..... kinda like a thermostate !

[light goes on !... BING !]

but not a thermostate, just a slight restriction
to "hold" the water in the radiator,
so it has time to cool !! .....

(I also found some 1/2" barbs in the garage
1st things 1st tho...)
