Cracks under stress

Hiyall,

Got a strange problem,
Just bought a new graphics card, its a GeForce4 MX440 64MB.
It works fine under Windows and other genral stuff that dont put the card under strees, but as soon as I play a game e.g. Unreal 2003 or Soldier of Fortune the whole PC crashs, and its a reboot to get back up and running.

I know its the graphics card because my old card works.

Here are some stats:

ECS K7S5A Mobo
2200XP AMD CPU(Running @ 1.7GHZ)
1GB Memory
XP Pro OS
Direct X version 8.2

Any Ideas would be appreiciated?

Oh yea,

I also checked out the IRQs, The graphics card and the network card had the same IRQ so I uninstalled and removed the network card, but it still does it!

have you tried running different drivers with this? that is sometimes a problem... i would reseat the card in the agp slot to see if that is the problem. then if it isn't the card being seated properly, i would take out almost everything from the computer (cards, memory, unhook the drives) then just run the bare minimum (hard drive, 1 stick ram, video card). if it works fine, then i would keep adding your cards and drives one by one to see if that is the problem. if the problems still persist after you take everything out of the computer, i would look into an rma as long as you have not modded the card in any way or oc'd it. good luck and i hope that this helps out.

a rma stands for "return material authorization" i believe (correct me if i am wrong.) it's a return to the manufacturer for faulty hardware. i would check with the place you got it from to see if they have an rma policy.
