I been trying to post a screen shot of my XP 2700 and the stats and such it runs at. just cause I know some people like to know the specifics.
just it won't let me....:(

I don't have much time to OC with it.
it's lunch time and I have to get back to work soon, but I will later on tonight just alittle. I dont wanna push this too far yet.

I got an "AIUGB" 0242.
flashed my Bios and it worked with no problems on my KD7 Raid.

the forum is down, seems to be down so I can't post a link there either yet....

this should solve that.
let me say this, I have a volcano 9 only at the moment I am still waiting for my prometiea, so if I get 2600 outta this thing on air...
I will be damn amazed.

you want a bench mark?
like?
3dmark 2001?
sisoftsandra?

my friend has my R9700 in spokane, he's volt modding it, so it will be a few days before I can 3dmark test it.
I'll give the OC a try tonight.

I just got 2400 with little to no effort.
took about 10 minutes of playing around, creeping up to get 2400.

Ya why didnt u just get the 2400 if you planned on overclocking it?? They are both tbred rev.b's....only the 2700 is an approved overclock of the 2400 done by amd...but they don tell you that or their sales would suck. I say return it and get the 2400 b4 u mess it up. Save some cash.

hey man i want some fsb results myself.
could it be possable if u can put it at 200fsb and max the mhz out?i think if u can get 200fsb @2400mhz im buing one!

Just a suggestion to save a hundred bucks..but whatever u like

His 2700 has aiugb instead of aiucb stepping though, which seems to be a big "step" up in performance...

I see...in that case enjoy the 2700 you loaded b@$tard........:D

How does the 266fbs on the 2400 differ from the 333fbs on the 2700??? What does this do performance wise??

WerewolfX
11-13-02, 07:41 PM
The 333 Fsb allows the AXP 2700+ to fully utilize DDR 333 memory by providing a faster path from the northbridge to the processor.

you wanted it, you got it.
took 2V to do this, and alittle playing with.
but it's easy to get.

enjoy.

12x200, just for you;)

OMG!! woohooo man thats so pretty! ty
wow hmmm mabey ram purcheses will be put off yet another month! what u cooling with couse i know you said u didnt get the prometia yet? so thats air im betting wow impressive.

i had a sinking feeling these 333fsb chips were gonna be dogs that were just oced 266 ones.

whats the temps like also.
next time ill double dog dare ya to try something for me hehee
thanks tho that is a really impresive sign for amd!

according to Speedfan I am running 47c, with my volcano 9 running at 5000 rpm.

I haven't played with the voltage much so I can probably get it better at a lower voltage, I am still just seeing what the chip can do.

basically, I am chicken to push it too far with air cooling alone.
when I get my prometia, I'll really give it a push.

for air 2.4 is damn nice.
I can get it to post everytime at 2500 and more, but after about a minute my motherboards temp warning goes nuts.
I set it low to 60C, basically, like I said, cause I am too chicken with air cooling to push it far.
the thought of frying a 350 chip cause I am impatient is not fun.

the 2700+ or atleast AIUGB looks like GREAT ocers. if you are using water or even better Pelt/phase change expect 2700mhz...

i saw a post on another board a guy hooked it up to his 226w pelt and within 5 mins first try got it to 2700mhz and runs stable!

looks like 3ghz will be broken real soon for real (like without LN2)

11-13-02, 08:55 PM
yeh dont push your luck.
but just a little fun you could try takeing the side off and put a box room fan in front of it.just so you can play.
just dont hurt that chip! you mighta got lucky in getten a good one will be great if they all do that.

with my volcano7+ i use a box fan since im folding and i need better fans in my case.my sense of prioritys arent the best sometimes.but 120mm xase fans in 2 weeks.

well mabey ill buy case fans i really like that chip! wanna buy a nice 2200 tbred? lol jk man

also with amd chips running a easy 200fsb its gonna really eliminate any gap with the p4's.

Wow! I cant wait for my 2600+ to get here! Gonna get some sick overclocks with my water system!

Wow...thats odd...cuz im getting a SLK-800 with big fan....and if I get that chip I will be able to have a 2.5 o/c??!??!?

Its funny because in another thread they were saying that you would be lucky to get 2.3 out of them with watercooling....maybe they had different stepping's since it was a 2400 not 2700.

EDIT: heres the thread http://forum.oc-forums.com/vb/showthread.php?s=&threadid=139046

Can someone explain why they cant get a good o/c?

deathstar13
11-14-02, 12:48 PM
no life that thread the guy is using a 1ghz tbird not tbred.

from what ive seen in early oc's on these looks promising.
i started a thread for 333fsb chip owners to post there results in one commen thread.
keep an eye on it.

Somethin fudged with the link...im working on it

EDIT: ...I got it now loook.

Gimme a break man im in the fourth block class at my high school trying to not get in trouble by doing this.....plus the computers suck....128mb ram, vanta 16mb card.....but they blew all the cash on p4's and WinXP (those idiots)

O ya the monitor is an ancient 13" thing.....*shoots self*

333 MHz FSB, assuming your running your memory 1:1 will give you more bandwith. For overclockers who have been hitting 200 MHz FSB(400 MHz DDR) for a while 333 MHz FSB chips are not really anything special. IMO, its a little much to be spending on an AMD cpu.

Im curious- if kt400 mobos unlock tbred bs by default, why is there any difference beteween the 266 and 333. It seems like you could just change the multi and run it at whatever you want.

Kunaak
11-14-02, 05:28 PM
I can with my Abit KD7.
it's already unlocked.
I Have run all multiplier from 5.5-14.
I can't get 15 or above to work.

So if you unlock and over clock the 333FBS that amd advertises is no better than a 266FBS cpu?

nealric
11-14-02, 08:13 PM
Thats what it seems to me. Theres only a 1$ price difference so I dont think its really an issue.

Yes, essentially but of course other variables are involved (unless the chips run at the same speed). BTW, FSB=Front Side Bus, not trying to be mean or anything but I just noticed you were writing FBS.
