Can someone tell me how to properly hook up a rheostat up to a fan. Not too sure how to wire them up. Thx

Very easy. Cut the black wire going to the fan. Wire one side to the center pin on the rheo, wire the other side to either the left or right pin on the rheo. I believe if you wire to the right side pin when facing the back of the rheo it will keep it consistent with consumer electronics where clockwise = more RPMs.

If that is a fan with a tachometer output, you would be better off cutting the + wire instead of the return wire. The voltage running the fan and the tachometer share the return wire. You would not want to compromise the tachometer feature.

its for a couple of high speed 120mm fans. Just wondering , can i hook up 2 fans to that one Rheostat?
That depends entirely on the rated wattage of the rheostat and the current the fans draw, or the fans wattage, from which you can deduce the current.
