Radeon 9700 shim?

anyone else having a problem with the height difference of the shim? .004" is the diff, I have a now lapped Corb which cannot make contact unless I goup AS3 on. I prefer the thin coat for lapped surface. I uninstalled the Detonators and installed the Radeon could this be the issue? Nuttin but lock ups here baby ;)

The shim does come off relatively easy. Just use a utility knife in one corner and turn the sharp edge up. It poped right off for me.

Mine is much cooler now
