I read somewhere about how someone would like a way to detect if the pump was working or not.
One way would be buying a analog(or digital) Amp meter, and hooking it up with the waterpumps powercord. Just Calculate how many amps the pump will use, and get a meter according to that. If the pump dies, it wont draw any amps at all, or it will draw a ****LOAd of amps... depending of the nature of the fault. Anyway, if you had a digital amp meter, you could build a circuit to check if it worked, and if it doesn't then just shut the pc off. I am sure this can be implented. Any comments?

Go over to "alt modding" section and look for a post entitled "check out my front mounted flow meter" Theres lots of pictures of this thing I made just to serve that purpose. Its not as involved as your idea but it works good and looks cool anyway.

A flow meter is one way, having a program like MBM to shut down your comp when the CPU reaches a certain temp is a good idea too.

There's a good waterflow indicator schematic off OC mod (http://www.ocmod.com).
