Thanx all for the great responce. Can anyone tell me how I delete a post???
Welcome to the forum :)
Personally, I wouldn't oc that cyrix without a serious huge heatsink & fan...cyrix has a few *ahem* heat issues.

give that lady a prize!
She's absolutely right. Believe it or not it gets even hotter than an AMD! If I were you, I'd save up a bit and try to upgrade. The most you'd probably get out of that chip may be 15% or so, but you wouldn't hardly notice the difference. Yet you'd have to sink a bit of money into cooling it.
G'luck and..........Welcome to the forums!

the prices for a duron cpu and motherboard are dirt cheap right now.
interesting you say this because I have one of these chips here on a PC chips board (no I didnt pay money for it :)) and have a crappy no name heat seat and fan on it and showing no signs of being hot, mind you I wouldn't overclock it in my wildest dreams.
I would go a cheap duron like suggested above, it will leave the Cyix for dead and have far more OC potential.
I have a heatsink...the cyrix chip that it was cooling got so hot it burned the cyrix logo right into the hs :)
Thanks all..But I was told you could overclock this chip to a 600 geuss someone was pullen the ****.....Can anyone tell me what the melting point Temp is??
