case fans

Hello--

I was just wondering... is there a case fan that is the best? If so what is the brand name? Also, in general, what size is best for extra case fans? By the way, is there a way I can tell if I need a 3 or 4 pin connector for the fans? All I see is a bunch of wires coming out of my power supply. I'd appreciate all replies.

Here are some basics:

3 pin connectors are generally for smaller fans and they plug into the motherboard and certain motherboards monitor their speeds

4 pin connectors plug into the PSU (usually on the bigger fans)

I've heard good things about Sunon fans (I ordered two Ultra high speed 80mm fans from www.coolerguys.com ). The fans I ordered supposedly move over 50 CFM of air. For <$15 that's not too bad IMHO. Panaflo's and Pabst's are the best available. Those 120mm 86cfm Panaflo's are very good fans, not too loud. Sunons are also decent fans.
I would use the 120mm fans in the lower front blowing in and one on the top sucking out.

For all the fans I have tried, the Sanyo Denki 92x32mm 55cfm delivered the best airflow for the noise generated. Whole most cases have to be modded to fit a 92mm in an 80mm cutout, it is easier than modding those cutouts for a 120mm fan.
