View Full Version : Quick! I can get c stepping 2.4 or 2.66 which one?

Hi Guys,

From my vendor I can get 2.4 cost rica C stepping sl6ef or 2.66 malay.

Which one should I get? I am willing to pay about $80 in difference in price.

I just want to get most clockable CPU.

Please let me know ASAP guys!

They're the same core, so they'll have similar chance of reaching close to the same max overclock. The 2.4B is cheaper and has a smaller multiplier. Sort of a no brainer.

Go with the 2.4b. The 18 multiplier will let you hit a higher fsb then the 22 multiplier on the 2.66.

The 2.66 has a multiplier of 20X not 22X.

My opinion is to go for the 2.66 cause i've seen better o/c results with that chip.

Batboy is correct again as usual. I apologize, I have been a little out of my mind. I had surgery on Monday, and I have been eating pain killers like they were M&M's. But I do stand behind what I said about which chip to go with. I would go with the 2.4 you will have a better chance of hitting a higher fsb with it.
