I dont foresee a reinstallation of XP (back to win2k actually) in my main rig for a while. It has been around for a long time.

My rig runs on 256mb of DDR. I dont foresee the cash for an upgrade there for awhile either.

Here is a listing of the processes running:

I only had Sygate, AVG antivirus, sound control and folding running in the task bar when that was taken. Are there too many processes running that shouldnt be?

What XP perks could I defeat would help my system not experience lag while playing GTA3 and folding? ect... ect...

Thanx

Easy answer check this linkage !

The second link will explain A to Z all the services and purposes and what you can do.

You will get explanations and all that jazz fo what you can and should not turn off. Its a bit of trial and error depending on your setup. I have 90% of my services turned off and XP runs like a charm. I have that info remembered backwards and forwards for use at work.
