View Full Version : PCI os 41 Hz - what happend with HDD on IDE?

If i have PCI clock 41 Hz what hapend with HDDs od IDE cable. Could i lost or destroy my HDDs? HDD is Western Dgital 7200 rpm 40 GB and second HDD is Western Digital 5400 rpm 40 GB.

yea
my hdd could still boot at 41 but all the exe files were corrupted

Depends, but data corruption may be likely. I don't think it will physically damage the drive though.

I used to run at 41.5Mhz PCI fine (166Mhz FSB).

i second to what fizz3 said. It depends totally on your hdd. for my current setup, 42 is da limit before corruption occures, however, i got a cuda that can run as high as 44, with some raid card. the point is, it depends on ur hdd.

Just step down to normal or 36 Mhz bus , its not worth it kill your system parts for nothing .
