Large pics?

Why is it that i can only post tiny pics no bigger then 300x300 or 52k? i see some pics posted on here that have to be scrolled up and accross? am i doing somthing rong?

when you attach a picture, you have to follow the rules, 300x300 or 52k.

the ones that are larger are the ones that aren't hosted here, they didn't attach them, instead they put them on their own (or other people's) servers, and use the [ IMG] tags.

various members do hosting, you'll often see them offering it in their sigs.

That explains alot I always wondered why people get to post big pics and I only get small ones

the limitations are due to high bandwidth costs, and server storage space.

If everyone posted 1024x768x32bit screencaps, the bandwidth would die loading up a screencap gallery thread. (although it gets up to 1Mb or so sometimes, even now).

to use the IMG tag, this:
[ IMG]http://forum.oc-forums.com/vb/images/smilies/smile.gif[/IMG] (without the space in the first tag), will do this:
http://forum.oc-forums.com/vb/images/smilies/smile.gif

that means that you can post your screencaps or pictures on your own webspace (or even on your own computer, if you host your own website), and serve them off of there with no restrictions.
