does anyone have any idea how well a tbred-a 1800+ might overclock on a A7N8X? upgrading soon, moms getting my k7s5a and duron :) It has fsb tweak (up to 211?) and multiplier tweak (up to 17?) I want to run it at mult 15 and just 133 or a bit more fsb. My goal is to reach 2ghz with this setup.

The XP1800+ tbred will most likely do 2GHz, if you're going with ASUS it has locked PCI and AGP which means their frequency remains as it is at any FSB, so going high FSB will only stress the RAM and will not corrupt HD or anything like it. I think go with good memory, and run a low multi and high FSB, otherwise there's no point in having an nForce2 motherboard...

well, i really want dual channel ddr and if i could afford it...better ram, but i already have 2 sticks of 2100 from crucial and kingston, so i'll try to find balance between multipliers and fsb with the nforce2

the nforce2 also gives me a ton of features i don't have right now, i have the good ol' value board k7s5a - will be moms

thanks for replying, i think i'm going to go with it since epox's nforce2 doesn't seem likely to have a locked pci

If you're like me, won't regret buying the A7N8X. It would be a perfect board if Asus had done the following: 1) given more clearance around the ZIF socket for larger HSFs and 2) more voltage options like the EPoX 8K3A/5A/9A line.
