I loved the last paragraph,

'The losers call it camping, but we call it winning!'

i don't know about you but when someone starts talking like that in a game i only target them for a few rounds. they tend to shut up pretty fast :p

one i thing i think is a little dumb about that 'Guide' is "set up an ambush", they are actually telling people to camp at spawn points? if you need to do something that pathetic then go back to Half-Life and practice, your not ready to play these new games.

In some games camping is not lame its part of the game, for instance Counter Strike and playing DE maps, as CT's one have to guard the bomb site that means sitting at the bomb site or at strategic points leading to the bomb site

but in a DM game its nothing but lame :)

I only find it ok to camp in a CTF type game when you guard the flag, and in the forest.

Games such as CS its "ok" to camp, but it should be used as a strategy and not a way of playing the game.

the whole point of that game is to NOT die. there's no respawning. you're supposed to camp in AA. (only on defense though, i hate assult campers)

Camping is an art form. If you camp so as people complain about you doing it, you're doing it right.

"Even if your squad is trudgeing across two Iwa Jimo in BF1492 and you haven't seen a enemie for 10 minutes, Its unacceptable to unload on your pal"

That part ripped my side open so hard i was laughing

This is from Maximum PC's newsstand only issue, right? I just got their December issue today. I'm probably gonna get the newsstand issue if I see it. How much is it?

Somewhat glad I discontinued my MaxPC subscription... pretty lame advice they're giving here IMO. Camping in UT2003 lol... surefire way to get hunted down and receive a potent death count. =]

Maximum PC was a nice mag before they changed their name (can't remember the older name), but now they seem to write articles for the brain dead PC user. I personally can only get my PC info fix from enthusiast web sites now.

Thanks for refreshing my mind on the name of the mag. I just feel like they used to be on or ahead of the curve when it came to delivering the news, now they seem to be behind the curve.

Same here. Not to mention the complete sell-out of their webforum. Nowadays you gotta pay just to get some decent functionality and deliverance from entrance-adds, banners and dual pop-ups. =/

LOL. Are you one of those Jack-Rabbit players? (jumping all over the place) It is like shooting a fly from a mile away while the wind is blowing 50 miles an hour.

I forgot to mention the grapple too :D
Its actually fun when you get used to it. And if its over 10 guys on one map, then it turns to delicious frag soup lol.

I remember my first CS matches after Q2 instagib... boy did I eat lead lol. I am usta dodging rails, bullets... whatever, dodging an AWP is a completely different subject :D On the plus side, play Q2 insta-gib for a month, and your aiming skills will be FAR better.

I learned the value of not running into every fire fight by playing Last man standing. Once you put a number on how many times you die, you will learn real quick how to dodge and pick your fights.

That article sucks. Especially the part about certain weapons being better than others. Each weapon has an ideal usage and no one weapon will conquer all (This is UT2k3. The rock-paper-scissors FPS). THere are plenty of situations where the Bio rifle can out-gun the Flak Cannon (and a million other situations).

And Camping is for weenies. It's only acceptable in Capture the Flag matches and it's NOT Kosher to camp spawning locations (another weenie tactic).
