What you're referring to is teh CPU multiplier right? You can't change that on Intel chips. You can only up the FSB. Change the Auto to disabled and change the FSB.

I have NOT been able to overclock my 2.4 at all. If I change the FSB, it refuses to POST.

I'm regretting to have bought a MSI board myself. The price was good but that was it pretty much. The bios flashing procedure is more than unusual and I have a dead board now...

Ouch! Did you have a 648 as well?

No, I got a 645...not worth the trouble.

once I fix the bios I'll give it to a friend of mine.

To overclock with this card, you must Disable Auto detect CPU FSB, it is enabled...then you can oc:)

I've done that. Otherwise you can't adjust the FSB. It jsut doesn't overclock at all.

When you disable that function, does the MHz under become yellow?

Don't recall the color, but I believe it changes. I'll check here in a few.

It does turn yellow and I can adjust it. Just for kicks I up'd it by 1MHz. No POST. This is incredibly frustrating.
This is what I have set as default. Well rather what is default on the board.

Any ideas? I'm thinking maybe its the graphics card. I guess its possible. But you'd think and MSI card would like the MSI board.

So what you're saying is that you can't adjust the enable mode to disable mode, the one over the 133MHz?? You must press enter and then you must use you're up and down arrow to select disable mode, and then press enter again...if th 133MHz fsb turn from grey color to yellow you must use Page up and down buttons to adjust the MHz...

No. I can adjust it. But even if I just move it to 1MHz more it doesn't post. I posted the pics to see if there was anything else that might be an issue.

from what i read on the msi board, fuzzy logic isnt very stable when used =\

flashing to bios v1.3 may fix your issues but I doubt it. gl

So any ideas on what else it could be? I'm noticing lately that my fan RPMs seem to read 0 at periods. This is even though the fan doesn't stop at all.

This board has been nothing but issues. No more MSI for me.

MJJ, I've also tried OCing this board with no luck. However, i noticed your post about using the pgup and pgdwn, is this the way to change the FSB Frequency? Also, did you try Fuzzy Logic and did it or did it not work?

I Fixed My Issue!!

I went and bought an ASUS P4PE. ;)

I'll be contacting MSI to get this board replaced. Then its getting eBay'd.

You can't adjust a fix PCI/AGP ration on boards with a SIS chipset!
That's why you should - in purpose not to overclock the PCI/AGP - raise the FSB from 133 to 166MHZ.
The normal PCI/AGP frequencies are 33/66MHZ, which are only available at 100, 133 and 166MHZ.
To make it run stable, you should perhaps raise your VCore...that's a matter of testing...

I tried upping the vcore with no luck. That board has a ton of issues. Just look on MSI's forums.

No, I just preferred the intel chipset...I'd never buy a SIS based board...

I have not been disappointed with this board. Are there better boards out there, of course. But I could've done worse as well. I currently have my 2.4 running at 2.63 (146 x 18). Ran 10 cycles of the Sandra burn in test with no probs. CPU temps averaged 43C.
