Hey all,
Could someone please tell me how E-IDE is diffrent from IDE?
My mobo is an asus a7v333 will it support it? Will I need to buy a diffrent cable? Also what does ATAPI connection mean.
Any help would be appriciated

EIDE is what all IDE is now these days, it just took over from IDE as that limited stuff (as per)

The original IDE specification could only support drives of up to 528MB. The ATA version 2, also known as E-IDE, was developed to support drives of several gigabytes in size.
ATAPI = AT Attachment Packet Interface. This interface allows non-hard drive devices like CD-RW's and DVD's to be used on the ATA interface. I don't know about the asus a7v333, but any modern mobo should support E-IDE.
