Hey guys, I got a friend of mine to start folding but he said he got 9 instances of spyware from F@H. He said he downloaded it, installed, etc. and was workin on his first WU and he checked his comp for spyware and it found 9 instances and his F@H is extremely unstable now. Has anybody heard about this?

No, and I run adaware regularly. FAH doesn't contain any spyware.

kazaa, imesh, bear share...any gnutella client for that matter, edonkey...huge list of stuff that he could have installed could be the culprit. F@H does NOT have spyware/adware.

i also run adaware at least twice a week, never found anything from F@H. where did he download the F@H software from?

Thanks guys, I haven't found any spyware in mine either but he was curious so I told him I would ask about it. I'm not sure if he had installed any programs right before F@H but I'll get him straightened out.

I run adware religously, and watch my process list for signs of CPU cycle piracy, and can verify that FAH does NOT contains any spyware. A good question to ask would be why they would want to install that crap that would slow their donors computers down? They want results ASAP, so why would they try to poke a stick in their own eye by inserting extra processes that would use valuble cycles?

after typing that I think I'll run adware again. Just hearing the word is enough to make my check my systems.

Ok, he found out what his problem was, he installed some shareware audio encoding program that was full of spyware.

now he should have to fold under your name for a year for doubting you :)

i'm glad you found out what it was, i wouldn't want F@H to be a suspected spyware program. we have a hard enough time trying to get more people folding.

haha, wouldn't that technically be cheating? bah, for having the audacity to doubt me, he SHOULD fold with my name though;) And yeah i know it's hard getting people to fold, I've had to work my butt off just to get 2 more people to fold but at least they're folding now.
